Following the case of Concepción Mangue Eyang Awong, who was arrested in Turkey but quickly set free after the intervention of the Ambassador to the country, Mr. Carmelo Nvono Ncá, we received news a new case involving Equatorial Guinea student Engono Avaa Tanseng, who is also a resident in Turkey.
Our fellow countryman had been physically abused by a Turkish student named Eyup, with whom he shared an apartment. Thus, a court hearing was scheduled on February 7th, during which Antonio had the opportunity to give his testimony.
Willing to show its commitment towards the defense of its citizens wherever they might be in the world, the Diplomatic Mission of Equatorial Guinea sent Mr. Silvestre Oyono Bibang Nzang, the Brussels embassy’s Second Secretary, to the Turkish capital in order to support Antonio during the hearing.
Embassy temporarily closed for repair work.
