The Brussels-based Equatorial Guinea’s ambassador, Mr. Carmelo Nvono-Ncá hold an important meeting with his Portuguese counterpart to the EU, H.E Nuno Brito in order to properly inform him about the recent “terrorist attack and invasion” according the terms he used. Both countries are part of the “Community of Portuguese speaking countries and Portugal remains an important EU Member State.

The ambassador Carmelo Nvono-Ncá urges the EU to take a firm position and condemn the significant events Equatorial Guinea has suffered from. The Guinean representative reminded that his country has always shown respect and solidarity to countries having suffered from a terrorist threat and attack, he said

The Portuguese ambassador has reminded that his country will never support changes that fall outside the frame of democratic process.  “Portugal will unconditionally respect and acknowledge democratic election results and will never comply with the use of force” he stated.
