Yesterday we reported the important news that has taken place this week, for which the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea (PDGE) has officially become an observer member of the International Democratic Party Center (IDC-CDI), a strong international association composed of the most influential Christian Democratic and Christian political parties in the world.
Before this announcement, which took place at a press conference before international media, there was a meeting at the PDGE headquarters between the IDC board -composed by the President, Andrés Pastrana, and the General Coordinator, Alberto Ruiz Thierry- and the General Secretary of the PDGE, Jerónimo Osa Osa Ecoro. Likewise, the Ambassador of Equatorial Guinea in Brussels, Carmelo Nvono-Ncá, attended this important meeting, as a fundamental piece in the course of the negotiations that have led our country to become an observer member of IDC.
Throughout the meeting, Andrés Pastrana reaffirmed that “we have planned a meeting with the President of the Republic, S.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, since the PDGE is an observer member and we aspire to obtain good news about the steps the President wants to take on the issue and what it means to enter as an IDC observer in Africa”. “From now on steps will be taken for the PDGE to be a full member of the IDC before December 2022,” concluded Pastrana.
