This Monday an important meeting took place between the Ambassador of Equatorial Guinea accredited to Belgium, Miguel Oyono Ndong Mifumu, and the Secretary General of the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), George Chikoti. During this meeting, the OACPS accreditation insignia was awarded to the Equatorial Guinean Ambassador, in a gesture that highlights the relevance of the relationship between Equatorial Guinea and this international organization.
This meeting marks the first official dialogue between Ambassador Miguel Oyono Ndong Mifumu and Secretary General George Chikoti, after the presentation of the credentials of the Equatoguinean diplomat to His Majesty, Philippe of Belgium, on November 29, 2023. Before the imposition of the OACPS accreditation insignia, both held a meeting, in which the Secretary General of the OACPS highlighted the importance that the organization gives to Equatorial Guinea, recognizing the country’s role as headquarters of the South-South Cooperation Office. Furthermore, he praised the recent High Level Forum on Agriculture held in Malabo from November 7 to 9, 2023.
In an atmosphere of collaboration and understanding, Ambassador Miguel Oyono Ndong Mifumu reaffirmed the commitment of the President of the Republic, His Excellency Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, to the OACPS and expressed his willingness to work closely with the organization. Likewise, he took the opportunity to request the support of the Secretary General of the OACPS in establishing a constructive dialogue with the partners of the European Union.
The closing of this fruitful meeting was marked by the imposition of the OACPS accreditation insignia on Ambassador Miguel Oyono Ndong Mifumu, symbolizing the strengthening of ties between Equatorial Guinea and this important international organization.
