The Brussels-based Ambassador of Equatorial Guinea, Carmelo Nvono-Ncá, paid a visit to the Ambassador of Angola, Georges Rebelo Pinto Chikoti, to express his full satisfaction regarding his candidacy for the post of Secretary General of the African, Caribbean and the Pacific Group (ACP).
The final decision will be taken by the Heads of State and Government of the 79 Member countries meeting at the group’s summit on 9 and 10 December in Nairobi, Kenya. The new Secretary General will take office after Mr. Patrick I. Gomes, a former deputy from Guyana, who hold the post for several years. Among the three candidates who have submitted their candidacy – Angola, Zimbabwe and Mozambican – the ambassador of Angola will be capitalizing on its 20 years experience as foreign minister.
