The President of Equatorial Guinea, H.E Teodoro Obiang Nguema proposed the creation of key institutions whose core mission is to assess human rights situation in every single African country. The Head of State considers this important initiative as a leverage of information in order to facilitate the intervention of international organizations whose objective is to provide a comprehensive field overview on human rights related issues. Therefore this project will on one hand, grant an easier access to the issued informations and on the other hand, reinforce the transparency of the state bodies concerned.
The president Obiang submitted this proposal during the month of April, during the opening of the international colloc on human rights and civil society hosted in Malabo, where embassies, chiefs of diplomatic missions and leaders of opposition parties of our country were invited to attend.
The President has also expressed the wish that Civil Society further watches the respect of human rights in Equatorial Guinea.
