On February 8th, our Ambassador to Belgium and the EU, Mr. Carmelo Nvono-Ncá, had an important meeting with the Secretary General of the African, Caribbean, and Pacific Group of States (ACP), H.E. Dr. Patrick. I. Gomes.

The meeting with Ambassador Nvono-Ncá was requested by Dr. Gomes who wanted to personally thank him for the important donation that the State of Equatorial Guinea gave to the ACP Group, with the intention of supporting its development and the continuity of the major projects that it is supervising in the three regions.

The staggering 500,000€ that Equatorial Guinea gave to the Group will be used to implement numerous new projects and further the Group’s main objective, i.e. sustainable growth and the reduction of poverty.

During the meeting, Ambassador Nvono-Ncá pointed out that our country “clearly has the intention of maintaining its strong support to the ACP”.  This commitment is shown by Equatorial Guinea’s initiative to host the HQ of the future ACP Agency for South-South and Triangular Cooperation in Malabo by next year.

Both agreed to start the joint work on the agency during bilateral talks that are scheduled for February 22nd, 23rd and 24th.
