The Brussels-based Ambassador, Carmelo Nvono-Ncá, has met with his counterpart from Singapore, Jaya Ratnam, in the Belgian capital. The overall objective of this meeting was to analyze together some aspects of the agenda of what may be the first meeting of the important G5 group countries, as previously reported on this website. This group, which has been designed for more than three years, will bring together a nation from each continent that share the same characteristics, its smallness but with great economic and resource potential. We hope Equatorial Guinea can represent Africa within this group.
As far as he is concerned, the Ambassador of Singapore has shown once again great interest for his country to be the nation representing the Asian continent. As Equatorial Guinea, Ratnam stressed during the meeting that Singapore is a small country but with great economic potential, which makes his country most accurate to represent the small Asian states. The Ambassador of Singapore also applauded the Equatorial Guinea’s President initiative which could only strengthen the visibility of the smallest countries in the international fora.
