The Ambassador of Equatorial Guinea to the Kingdom of Belgium has been received at the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs by the Head of Protocol, Olivier Belle, with whom he has discussed matters of vital interest between the relations of both nations.
After conveying the pertinent New Year’s greetings, both on his behalf and on behalf of the entire Government of Equatorial Guinea, Nvono-Ncá went on to discuss with the Head of Protocol the matter of the next Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union-European Union, an important event that will bring together the Heads of State and Government of both groups and that will take place in Brussels next February.
In particular, they have focused on fundamental aspects, such as the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic and the prevention and security measures that will be implemented for this important high-level event, something in which the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working.
This would be the sixth EU-Africa Summit between the Heads of State and Government of the European Union and the African Union (AU) and, as stated in the conclusions of the ministerial meeting of both groups held in Rwanda at the end of 2021, it seems almost certain that it will take place on February 17 and 18, 2022 in Brussels.
