César Debén, General Counselor of the Directorate-General for Fisheries of the European Commission, was invited to Equatorial Guinea, notably by the Ministry of Fisheries, with the aim at following up the seminar-workshop covering issues related to Fisheries Management, which was held from May 20 to 24.

Before initiating his travel duty, Debén met Carmelo Nvono-Ncá, the Brussels-based ambassador, with whom he prepared his important participation in this seminar. Both also analyzed the framework of the current law governing fisheries in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, one of the most powerful strategic sectors and in which the government is making great efforts to strengthen its position in the market.
